It was quiet as the stale ally air blew lightly, cars could be heard on the distance and every brick seemed to have some cats scent on it. But none of that mattered to Maze as waited, stomach to the ground, claws prepared for the pounce as an unsuspecting ally mouse inched closer and closer to it's death until it reached the point of no return and she struck. The final squeak of the vermin was a welcoming sound to the Smokey coat female as she happily dug into the meal, stopping only to check to see if she had any unwanted company before continuing until the mouse was gone and her hunger was sated.
She wondered what she should get into as she cleaned what blood remained on her paws and lips, 'the fish markets pretty busy today' she thought. It was a regular habit of hers to steal from the popular fish seller, sometimes doing it just for fun as she was entertained by the way the human owner thought he had even a slight chance of stopping her.
Now she was glancing behind her as a very over weight and anger owner chased her through the maze like ally, stopping as he got lost every now and then. He was really upset about the fresh salmon that she held in the grips of her sharp teeth and she was happy as this wouldn't have been any fun for her if he wasn't.

(Hope it's okay if I jump in here.)
Basil grunted in pain as he landed nose first in another failed hunting attempt.' What am I even doing here?' He asked himself, not normally coming to the ally to hunt. Giving up he started to walk in the direction of a garbage can he knew to have enough food for someone like him, barely jumping out of the way when he spotted another cat running towards him.
'What's she running from?' He asked again, quickly answered as he again avoided being ran into this time by a clearly over weight human male.
It wasn't until he caught the tantalizing scent of fish on the mans clothes that he realized what the female was carrying. The salmon was a pretty good size, probably big enough for the both of them if they shared.
But he wasn't going to ask, he'd just take for himself since it was clear the female didn't have trouble finding food for herself she could always eat something else. As he was plotting he didn't notice that the two were long gone until it was too late and he quickly raced to catch up to them, only to find that the dark female had successfully lost her chaser and was now sitting proudly in a dead end with her prize next to her.
Basil froze when he saw her, not expecting her to be seemingly guarding the fish and knew it would make taking the meal a little harder.

(I don't mind at all, and sorry for the wait.)
Maze smugly cleaned her paws again after having lost her over weight chaser, she could hear him swearing as he ran past her hiding spot in the dead in and couldn't help but want to laugh at him. It wasn't like he had any real chance of catching her anyways, these ally's were her home and she knew them like the back of her paw while humans rarely came here.
The smokey trickster's nose twitched as she caught the scent of a very close male but, most likely after her prize. She paused in her grooming, stretching as she pretended to be unaware of the males presence. She glanced at the freshly caught Salmon and grinned, she only took it for fun as she wwasn't hungry at all and wouldn't mind giving it to the male but she didn't like toms who snuck around and was now determined to make him work for his meal.
"I know your there." she said calmly as she now sat with the fish in front of her like an offering, her tail flickering playfully behind her as she waited for the tom to reveal himself.

Sasha was merely passing through the alleyway on his way home, and had not been a witness to the thrilling chase that brought the very large human stomping angrily around the corner. He was cursing to himself and kicking the ground on his return to wherever he'd come from. Sasha's ears perked at the sight of the overweight man; but no sooner did he acknowledge it best to stay out of the guy's way, than the man noticed him, grabbed an empty can off the street, and threw it at him. Get out of here, you stupid cat! the man yelled. Sasha barely avoided getting hit and shot away under a dumpster as the tin clattered on the pavement behind him. The human growled and stormed on by, soon disappearing from sight.
Peaking out from under the dump, Sasha's interest was peaked. Why had the man been this deep in the alleys? He smelled strongly of fish, and was breathing heavily, as though he'd been running. Had he run here for safety, or followed someone else? Sasha turned his head in the direction the human had come from, and started down that way, sniffing for any scent that might answer his questions.
He discovered it soon enough when the smell of fish became stronger, despite his moving away from the man, and scented two cats up ahead.

Basil froze when the female spoke before taking a deep breath and stepping out, staring the female down he took a quick glance at fish before returning his gaze to her. He stood watching her, her smoky coat made her look mysterious. She's just a female B, this will be easy. He told himself as he walked closer to the female, cursing mentally went he scented another cat closing in on their position.Great now I've competition.
He groaned inwardly, he'd have to make this quick as he was to hungry for a fight. "Well hello sweet heart." he spoke roughly and uninterested. "That's a tasty looking fish you stole for me, now hand it over and get gone." He ordered in the voice that usually made some of the toughest toms drop what they were doing and run for the hills, the same voice he secretly hated using but you didn't survive the streets bein the soft hearted male he actually was.
Now are you going to be a good little kitty cat or are we going to have problems? He said with a small growl, hoping t get her to hurry and give her the fish before their guest arrived and complicated things for him.

Sasha rounded the corner just in time to hear the subtle threats uttered by a male's rough voice. Not far from where he stood, he saw an exquisitely colored female sitting over the fish he had scented, and a bob-tailed male approaching her.
Well, that explained it! Given what the male had just said, and the fact that big, fat, pre-spiced fish were not typically something you could find in the park lake; Sasha determined the female had stolen the fish from the overweight man he'd seen storming down the alleyway a little while ago. Mystery solved! Now Sasha was intrigued by something else; namely how this fight over food would end.
So, instead of approaching, Sasha merely sat down where he was and curled his tail around his paws to watch.
It seemed to him that the male's stride was intent and serious: He really wanted that fish and meant to take it by force if he had to, but there was also a hesitance in each step that gave Sasha the impression that he was hoping for a surrender instead of a fight-- Nevertheless, Sasha had no doubt the male would bring a fight if he had to. How the female would respond to his threats was something Sasha especially wanted to see. Not just any cat could steal a big fish from a big human and get away with it.. This female must be real street savvy.
