Personality:
River is extremely shy towards other cats. She often keeps to herself and is hiding within the shadows of the Alleyway. Due to the abuse she has gone through as a house cat she is terrified of humans and will run has fast and has far has she can from them. River can be a bit hostile towards other cats but it is more out of fear then actual unfriendliness. River will most likely probably hold the scars of her past forever she still is tortured by her nightmares at night. It is difficult for River to let anyone in and it will take a very special cat to help her learn to love again and open up about her past which she has never told anyone about.

History:
River was born in purebred Devon Rex cat mill along with her sister Meadow. Cages stacked row after row against the filthy garage wall was all that River had ever known. Her mother Quinn a pure white she-cat with large blue eyes and father Castle who lived in the cage beside them. The two adult cats had lived their entire life in the cages they called home.
The humans were cruel never cleaning and rarely feeding their 30+ cats. The neighborhood kids often came to poke the cats with sticks and if they ever fought back they would burn them with cigarettes. Every cat in the place was terrified of the humans.
As River grew she stood out from others due to her unique markings, she would watch has cats would come,go and sadly many of them died. Her mother kept them well hidden from the humans and their father would distract the humans whenever they came near getting a beating.
At six weeks the kittens mother became very ill and began to slowly wither away until she finally died one dark cold night. Castle mourned for the loss of the love of his life. That was the first time the humans finally noticed the young kittens. That day was one of the first scars and many more after that River was given. The neighborhood kids were over tormenting the cats again laughing has they tried to run up the cage bars. They noticed the dead she-cat and began to poke her body until they hit Meadow who cried out. One of the kids of the breeders opened the cage and leaned his hand forward wanting to hurt the kitten with his cigarette, River ran forward giving him a nasty scratch and was thrown against the bar where she received several pokes and burns all the while her dad was hissing and batting at the cage.
That was one day that River would never forget has she grew weeks turning into months. The night she escaped was the best night of her life. The night a huge fire burned through both the house and into garage. The smell of smoke was thick in the air has she coughed her sister close beside her. They had to get out the screams of other cats heard over the raging flames that was spreading fast. River was so thin and fragile she didn't know where the strength had come from but she began to ram against the bars over and over until finally she collapsed unable to go on any father. Her fathers voice finally came through the smoke "the latch River pull it with your paw" Castle had been fiddling with the latch the entire time but his paw just couldn't fit in far enough that was until he realized his daughters could. River did has she was told and within a moment the bar squeaked open. "Dad! I did!" Her father smiled weakly " Good job honey now go get your sister out of here!" River turned to look at the unconscious body of her sister " but daddy! what about you?" she cried " I will be right out after you" he meowed. River nodded grabbing her sister in her mouth she dropped off the cages edge landing on the ground with thud. It was with every ounce of strength that River could muster did she drag her sister out of the burning garage that collapsed just has she squeezed through a crack in the door.
River sat huffing outside watching the fire devour the entire garage tears fell down her face as she realized her father was gone. He had her think he was coming out after her so she wouldn't waste time helping her it was the last thing he could do for his and Quinn kits. The young black and white she-cat pawed at her sister Meadow who never woke up.
That was the day River left her birth pace, never a home. The she-cat never looked back finally the nightmare was over she had lost her entire family but she was determined to live the life they could never. She's terrified alone and unsure of all the new and strange things around her. Every day is learning experience, something new and strange for River. She will survive one way or another.
